OUR INAUGRAL MEETING
The meeting was held on Saturday 30 June 2012 at the 2012 AFAANZ conference venue "Crown Promenade" in Melbourne at 14:00.
Speaker:
Mr Des Pearson, Auditor-General, Victorian Audit Office, Melbourne
Title:
Changing service delivery modes – Implications for Public Sector Audit
In his presentation, Mr Pearson canvassed developments in revising audit legislation to address the erosion of mandate associated with outsourcing elements of service delivery. Access to information and assets of the state in the hands of private providers is required to enable public officials to continue to be held to account for overall program delivery. He also covered developments related to COAG arrangements where we are moving to a more collaborative audit approach, across jurisdiction.
