The 73rd Peter Edwards Memorial Lecture was recently given by Professor Ellie Chapple of QUT Business School to an audience of approximately 80 accounting academics and practitioners. Her presentation, ‘Synthesising accounting practice and research: accountants on the front line of financial crime’, provided thought-provoking insights into the opportunities and challenges for engagement between academe and practice in the context of forensic accounting.

The annual memorial lecture is hosted jointly by The University of Adelaide and CPA Australia and is named in honour of the founder of the South Australian accounting firm, Nexia Edwards Marshall. The Peter Edwards Memorial medal was presented to Professor Chapple by Emeritus Professor Scott Henderson.
