Strategic Partnerships for Accounting Educators

In this conversation with Deakin University, Xero and Microsoft, we explore the opportunity of technology enabled strategic partnerships between Business Schools, Business Platforms and Education Technology. How can these partnerships assist to transform teaching and learning of Accounting for today’s digital business environment.

In her research paper in 2020, Accounting Degrees: Their Value Proposition and Relevance , Prof Kim Watty Proposes “strategic partnerships with: edtechs, employers and professional bodies in our tents.”

According to the IMA Exposure DRAFT pg 1 Nov 2021, the role of the professional accountant is evolving. Technology is eliminating many repetitive, routine tasks, allowing time for more strategic, value-added activities. Could the same be said of the role of the accounting educator? Is time a competitor in Higher Education? According to BAFA Scotland 2021 Member survey, the number one challenge facing educators since COVID-19, … accounting instructors time spent on teaching, learning and assessment has increased by 75%.
